I know the matte sticker is the first NES release, but I haven't seen any real info on the Famicom version. I’ve never seen it before and wouldn’t be able to tell you if it’s official art (probably not, especially for how new the sticker looks in comparison to the cart) but it is really cool art that represents the game better imo. Although there are no major differences to the North American game, there are a few minor differences, such as the sprites for Luigi in Super Mario World.In the original game, Luigis sprite set is identical to Marios, save for being assigned green palette colors. I have also seen some copies with different box art in the past - it seems more uncommon and the picture is in more of a "cute style".Īnyway, does anyone know how to identify the first print of this game?
